Call for nominations for ABPN Honorary Fellowship
Following the award of Honorary Fellows at our last Annual General Meeting, the Association is seeking nominations for individuals to be awarded Honorary Fellowship of the ABPN in 2025.

Honorary Fellows of the ABPN (2024)
The ABPN was delighted award eight Honorary Fellowships in 2023.
The ABPN was delighted award eight Honorary Fellowships in 2023.
- Associate Adjunct Professor Karen Ford. Karen was awarded Honorary Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding contribution to children's nursing research, developing children's nursing practice and her support of the rights of children.
- Professor Minette Coetzee. Minette was awarded Honorary Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding contribution to building context-specific children's nursing in Africa and empowering children's nurses to drive forward change in Africa.
- Katrina McNamara: Katrina was awarded Honorary Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding contribution in many roles to the care of children and young people and her long standing work for the ABPN.
- Margaret Gwilliams: was awarded Honorary Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding contribution and her encouragement over many years to the ABPN.

- Rachel Cooke. Rachel was awarded Honorary Fellowship for her contribution to nursing care of children and young people. Rachel has made a significant contribution to the palliative care of children and young people in the UK and abroad noticeably Romania and Ukraine and has led changes to care at the time of the child's death and bereavement support in London.
- Professor Bertha Ochieng. Professor Ochieng was awarded Honorary Fellowship for services to the healthcare of children young people. Bertha is a children's nurse and some of her work focuses on community empowerment and engagement of socially disadvantaged populations.
- Gerri Sefton. Gerri was awarded Honorary Fellowship for services to the nursing care of children and young people. Gerri is an Consultant Nurse, working in children’s critical care and is an expert on paediatric early warning systems.
- Fiona Smith. Fiona was awarded Honorary Fellowship or services to children’s nursing. Following a career in children's nursing, Fiona became the Children and Young People's Advisor at the RCN, personally supporting and mentoring many children's nurses. Fiona played a key role in establishing the European Paediatric Nursing Network.
- Michael Tatterton. Michael was awarded Honorary Fellowship for his leadership in developing children's community services, children's hospices and children's palliative care. Michael is a clinical academic and currently professional lead for the CYP nursing at Bradford and Clinical Director for a children's Hospice. Michael has led a number of developments in children community services, children's hospices and children's palliative care.
- Ann Bisbrown Lee. Ann was awarded Honorary Fellowship for services to the Association. Anne is hard working, loyal and committed member of the ABPN, known to many for her work at conferences and leading the marketing activity of the association.
- Steven Campbell. Steven was awarded Honorary Fellowship for services to the Association. Stephen was the first editor of the journal of child health care and provided considerable support to the ABPN in a variety of roles during the 1980s and 1990s.
- Norman Long. Norman was awarded Honorary Fellowship for services to the Association. Norman has been a longstanding member of the governance and development group of the Association most notably as the finance officer over many, many years.
